As we celebrate 25 years of SmartestEnergy, I’m thrilled to share a milestone that reflects who we are and where we’re going: following a global employee vote, we have selected the Rainforest Alliance as our first global charity partner.
This partnership is a cornerstone of our sustainability strategy to “empower a greener generation”. It aims to educate and energise our colleagues, while driving renewable energy and decarbonisation—and it’s a powerful way for SmartestEnergy to channel our efforts into meaningful environmental and social impact.
Why Rainforest Alliance?
Founded in 1987, the Rainforest Alliance is a non-profit organisation working across 62 countries to protect forests and farms and support the people who depend on them. Their mission closely aligns with our core business: seeking to tackle climate change by helping farmers and forest communities grow crops in more sustainable ways, supporting families to earn a fair living, and protecting wildlife.
